The 'Curry', as it is affectionately known by locals, is 120km east of Mount Isa and 400km south of the Gulf of Carpentaria.About The RoleUndertake various tasks relating to town maintenance or other activities necessary to complete all Council works programs effectively and efficiently.Key Responsibilities- Ensure all Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental practices are adhered to- Grass cutting and maintenance of town streets, parks, gardens and open spaces- Actively contribute new ideas that enhance and improve the quality of work delivered to the Community of Cloncurry.- Possess demonstrated competency in the operation of various small plant and equipment (i.e. mowers, whipper snippers, pumps, generators, chainsaws)- Operate plant and machinery within the level of competency, licence or tickets held- Perform pre-start checks on all equipment prior to use and report any defects;- Possess demonstrated ability to complete assigned tasks within allotted timeframes to a high standard- Have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment participating as a team player- General labour – lifting, moving, cleaning;-  Relevant duty as directed within the scope of the position, level of training and competency.QualificationsHold and maintain an unrestricted C class driver’s licence as minimum requirement;Construction White Card is mandatory prior to commencement;Plant Operator competencies across a range of machinery is highly desirableHeavy vehicle licence (HR, HC, MC) is highly desirable;Certificate IV Civil Construction is highly desirableRecent Police Check or willing to obtainApplications Close 8 December 2023 at 5:00pm  Cloncurry Shire Council reserves the right to commence recruitment prior to the closing date should a suitable candidate apply.  AUD Cloncurry 4824
