The 'Curry', as it is affectionately known by locals, is 120km east of Mount Isa and 400km south of the Gulf of Carpentaria.About the roleThe "Project Engineer – Water & Sewer" is a key contributor to the development and delivery of projects and initiatives that ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of Council’s water and wastewater services in the townships of Cloncurry and Dajarra (and, to a lesser extent, Kajabbi).This role does so by working closely with Council staff (Infrastructure team, Works team, Planning & Environment team, Projects team), outside consultancies, contractors and Departmental regulators to roll out projects and initiatives of all shapes and sizes that are all geared toward the continual improvement of Council’s water and wastewater operations.The "Project Engineer – Water & Sewer" is also a key stakeholder in the development and updating of key organisational documents as these relate to water and sewer operations: the Drinking Water Quality Management Plan, Asset Management Plans, the Cloncurry WTP Master Plan, and the Operational Plan and Budget.Areas of works consist of, but are not limited to:Delivery of projects and initiatives that improve water supply, treatment and distribution operations in Cloncurry & Dajarra (and, to a lesser extent, Kajabbi).Delivery of projects and initiatives that improve sewage collection, treatment and disposal operations in Cloncurry & DajarraAsset management planning: reviewing and updating of AMPs for water and sewer assetsQualificationsMandatory:Bachelor of Engineering or Associate Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent) if substantial experience in a similar role can be displayedPossession of a current WH&S Construction Safety Induction CardCurrent "C" class manual Driver’s LicenceCurrent Police ClearanceDesirable:Minimum 2 years post degree experience working in Water and/or Sewer operations or similar field.Eligible for membership of Engineers AustraliaRPEQ statusExperience in relevant software modelling programmes, Auto CAD, water network modelling For further information please see attached position description or contact the HR Team on 07 4742 4100.Applications Close 14 August 2023 at 5:00pm  Cloncurry Shire Council reserves the right to commences recruitment prior to the closing date should a suitable candidate apply. Position Description AUD Cloncurry 4824
