Project Engineer

OBJECTIVE OF THIS ROLEEffectively undertake all engineering work by contributing to both general operations, asset management and special project works of Council including design, supervision, and completion.Areas of works consist of, but are not limited to:Roads, bridges and associated infrastructureDrains, Water and Sewerage infrastructureRecreational and Sporting grounds including services and irrigationPublic Realm Aerodromes and facilitiesBuildings and other Local Government infrastructureAsset Lifecycle ManagementThis outlines the general duties and responsibilities of the position, but is not all encompassing:Responsible for assisting to improve effective management of Council existing infrastructureProvide sound and practical technical advice on maintenance and performance of Council infrastructurePrepare, review and update documentation relating to maintenance and performance of Council infrastructureAssess and report upon existing Council infrastructureLiaise with internal and external stakeholders including other staff, the public, Consultants, Contractor and other relevant parties to ensure effective assessment and functioning of Council infrastructureSecure relevant permits or approvals required for Council projectsEnsure that WH&S and Council policies are being adhered during your employmentResponsible for Project and Contract Management and evaluation of each project for efficiency and project management bettermentReview and assess existing projects and Council operations critically to determine areas for improvementReview external consultants engagements, design documentation and reports.Responsible for effective project documentation and record keepingEnsure that projects are delivered to Council standards and within budgetContribute to the promotion of the image of Council and the maximisation of good public relationsUndertake ‘Dial Before You Dig’ Investigations within acceptable time limitsAssist with the preparation and implementation of Council’s Asset Management PlanAssist with the ongoing development and maintenance of Council’s GIS system and its application with asset management.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCES REQUIREDMandatory:Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) if substantial experience in a similar role can be displayedEligible for membership of Engineers AustraliaPossession of a current WH&S Construction Safety Induction CardCurrent "C" class manual Driver’s LicenceCurrent Police ClearanceDesirable:RPEQ statusExperience in relevant software modelling programmes, Auto CAD, water network modelling For further information please visit http://careers.cloncurry.qld.gov.au/ or phone 07 4742 4100 and ask to speak to Terri. Suitable applicants may be interviewed and appointed prior to closing. (Previous round applicants need not apply)CLICK HERE FOR POSITION DESCRIPTION AUD Cloncurry 4824
