Community Venues Coordinator
Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a Community Venues Coordinator to oversee Council’s venues and facilities across the Shire.
About the Role:
The role is the main point of contact for all venue hire enquiries and supports community groups, residents, organisations and internal stakeholders with bookings, events and activities.
You will coordinate and manage bookings, ensure venues are presented to a high standard, and deliver a positive customer experience for all venue hirers. This role also plays an important part in supporting community capacity building through partnerships, customer service and stakeholder engagement.
What We Offer:
Full Time - (Stream A) Level 4-5- $77,000-$86,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) + Superannuation
- 5 weeks Annual Leave (with 17.5% Leave Loading)
- Monthly RDO (13 per year)

- Remote Area Housing Assistance ($60 pw Renting / $90 pw Homeowner)

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage booking enquiries and Council’s facility booking system (Bookable)
- Provide outstanding customer service and act as the main liaison for venue users.
- Assist event organisers and hirers to deliver safe and successful events.
- Coordinate venue setup/pack down and ensure venues are clean, safe and presentable.
- Conduct site inspections, meet-and-greets and routine facility checks.
- Maintain venue inventories, equipment, stock levels and hireable resources.
- Ensure compliance with security, safety and operating procedures.
- Maintain promotional material for venues and monitor utilisation rates.
- Support community events, venue user groups and stakeholder relationships
About You:
We are seeking someone who is:
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in venue/facility management, events, or similar environments
- Strong organisational and time management capability
- Ability to work collaboratively and build community relationships.
- Sound knowledge of WHS and community expectations
- Ability to undertake manual handling tasks (moving furniture/equipment)
Mandatory Requirements:
- Police Clearance
- Positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or the ability to acquire upon commencement.
- Hold and maintain an unrestricted P2 or above driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Qualifications in Event Management, Community Services, Sports Management, Marketing or Business
- Previous Local Government experience
- Experience in venue coordination within events or similar industries
- Pre-employment medical (fitness for work) may be required.
