Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a motivated and community-focused Cloncurry Unearthed Coordinator to manage and grow the operations of the Cloncurry Unearthed Visitor Information Centre and Museum.About the Role:This role coordinates customer service, exhibitions, visitor programs, and events. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage shop merchandising, stock control and POS
  • Conduct guided tours and support community activities
  • Maintain visitor statistics and reporting

Tourism & Museum Development

  • Identify partnership, event and funding opportunities
  • Assist in developing exhibition calendars and programs
  • Coordinate launch events, networking nights, and seasonal displays
  • Support marketing, promotions and museum enhancement initiatives

Team Leadership & Customer Service

  • Lead, train and support staff and volunteers
  • Provide high-quality customer service and tourist information
  • Support Council tourism activities and cross-venue programs

 About You:

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Good computer literacy and administration skills
  • Experience supervising staff or volunteers
  • Knowledge of local tourism or museums (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to problem-solve and manage daily operations
  • Experience with POS, cash handling and reporting

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current Police Clearance
  • Unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Blue Card (or ability to obtain)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Qualifications in tourism, museums, arts management, humanities, or related fields
  • Experience in museum operations, events, or tourism
  • Experience in developing exhibitions or customer programs
  • Pre-employment medical (fitness for work) may be required.
