Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking an experienced Director Child Care (Nominated Supervisor) to lead Curry Kids Early Learning Centre. This is an opportunity for a confident early childhood leader who wants to shape service quality, develop a strong team and play a key role in the transition to the new Curry Kids facility.What We Offer:Permanent Full-Time - Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - $125,000 to $135,000 per annum (Depending on Qualifications and Experience) + SuperannuationHousing provided: Council housing as part of your packageMonthly RDO (13 per year)Personal (Sick) LeaveFive weeks annual leave, with 17.5% leave loadingAbout The Role:Reporting to the Director Community Services and Economic Development, the Director Child Care leads the day-to-day operation of Curry Kids Early Learning Centre and fulfils the responsibilities of Nominated Supervisor. This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for child safety, regulatory compliance, staff leadership and development, educational quality, service performance and strong relationships with families.  You will also play an important role in preparing Curry Kids for the transition into its new facility, helping shape staffing, service readiness, systems and operations for the next chapter of the Centre. About You: We are seeking a capable and engaging early childhood leader who knows how to bring out the best in people while maintaining high standards of care, professionalism and accountability.  You are a visible, practical leader, comfortable spending time in the rooms, coaching educators, supporting your team and understanding what is happening across the Centre. Mandatory Requirements:
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent or higher qualification
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an early childhood education and care service
  • Knowledge, experience and capability to undertake the role of Nominated Supervisor
  • Current Queensland Working with Children Check / Blue Card
  • Current approved First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training
  • Required child protection and child safety training

Desirable:
  • Minimum three years experience as a Director, Nominated Supervisor, Assistant Director or in a comparable senior early childhood leadership role
  • Experience leading a service through Assessment and Rating
  • Experience managing staffing, budgets, occupancy and service performance
  • Experience establishing, transitioning or significantly improving an early childhood education and care service
