Administration Assistant

Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking an Administration Assistant to join the team - this is a Part Time position.Benefits include:5 weeks Annual LeaveRemote Area Housing AllowancePersonal (Sick) Leave$61k-66k per annum - Pro rata (dependent on qualifications/experience)+ Superannuation OBJECTIVE OF THIS ROLEThe purpose of this role is to provide a pivotal first point of contact for Council, responding to customer enquiries in line with established procedures and key performance standards and maintaining a positive public image of Council through courteous, professional and timely service to all customers, clients and visitors, both internal and external, to the organisation.This role is to provide assistance in relation to Council’s Administration and Finance functions and ensure all jobs allocated are completed within industry timeframes. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES- Deliver timely customer services in person, over the phone or across multi-communication channels in line with established customer service standards.- Respond to customer enquiries, needs, concerns and suggestions in a timely manner to improve and maintain quality of service in line with performance measures.- Promote Council programs and services and educate customers to enable their easier access to Council services, technology and information.- Assist in the delivery of enhanced business systems and processes in consultation with internal and external customers and stakeholders.- Be responsible for the security of cash drawer and petty cash and ensure sufficient float held at all times;- Work in collaboration with and assist the Director and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.- Maintain customer information resources available at Reception and in the foyer area, including the visual display and ensure these areas are neat and orderly at all times;- Process external requests and complaints through ERDMS- Process customer cemetery plaque applications and burial searches;- Process dog registrations and renewals and update database and records;- Process complaints and requests in relation to missed bin collection, bin renewal and/or replacement and direct to Council’s Waste Contractor;- Review Council’s webpage and electronic media and advise relevant officer via Supervisor of out of date or incorrect material;- Perform typing duties for other departments as requested via Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONSMandatory: Possess high level of written and verbal communication skillsPolice ClearanceCompletion of year 10 as a minimum requirementDesirable: Current unrestricted driver’s licenceCertificate III Business Administration or similar is desirable but not essential.  Applications close Friday 24 May 2024 at 12pm. Cloncurry Shire Council reserves the right to commence recruitment prior to the closing date should a suitable applicant apply.  For further information please contact the HR Team on 4742 4100 or email council@cloncurry.qld.gov.auPD Administration Assistant AUD Cloncurry 4824

Mandatory: 

  • Possess high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Police Clearance
  • Completion of year 10 as a minimum requirement

Desirable:

  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Certificate III Business Administration or similar is desirable but not essential.
